It’s hard to believe but I met Carmen in Houston, Texas in 1983. We were both working in Sam Houston Book Shop in the Galleria both out of college and beginning our adult lives away from our respective homes in Ohio and New York. Subsequently, we both ended up in Palo Alto, California for much of the late 1980’s and 90’s. Of course we’ve stayed in touch! Dear friends for multiple decades is a rare thing!
Carmen came to see us in Bangkok for our last several nights and then she and I went onward to Cambodia while Rich took a solo retreat getaway to Boracay, Philippines. What a grand time we had for nine nights together! Below is just a smattering of the good times!
