Grayan-et-l'Hôpital — Euronat Centre Naturiste

We stayed one week in early July 2023 in the Villa Amélie - Côté Village section of Euronat Centre Naturiste ($190 /night) including linens and towels. It’s an expansive facility with little bungalows and some tent camping along the Atlantic coast suitable for couples and families who like to ride bikes naked to the beach. There’s a delightful town center with shops and restaurants — all clothing optional. It was a wonderful week that easily could have been a month.

Bordeaux — Private Home With Friends

The last three days of July we spent exploring Bordeaux, France as the guests of our French friends we know from our travels in Thailand. Wonderful city and wonderful time! We went to the local wine museum and enjoyed the street life. And the food!

In Bordeaux, France summer of 2023 we visited a wonderful art installation at Les Bassins des Lumieres featuring the art of Gaudi and Dali.

Cap d'Agde — La Bergerie Du Cap

After just a couple hours on the train from Barcelona, Spain we arrived in Cap d’Agde, France, a delightful town just 30 minutes from Montpelier and a haven for French retirees and naturists with many nearby beaches and a variety of accommodations targeted to naturists, and non-naturists, in southern France. We stayed three nights in late June 2023 in a suite at La Bergerie Du Cap ($239 /night) not including breakfast.

We did not stay in the naturist village but La Bergerie Du Cap was less than a 10 minute walk away. We bought a day pass one day — not always available, especially to men trying to enter alone for just one day FYI — to enjoy the naturist beach, explore the sprawling all clothing-optional resort and had a delicious seaside seafood dinner. It’s quite a big village with many different resort complexes and areas of restaurants and shops. All clothing optional. (See our next entry at Euronat near Bordeaux. We enjoyed that more!) The d’Agde naturist village is a fabulous sex-positive environment offering straight couples swingers club and, we thought, a really empowering and an important unapologetic celebration of female particularly, and male, sexuality. Definitely a unique destination in Europe. We’d heard about it and wanted to see for ourselves. Our recommendation: if you’re going specifically to explore the resort (and especially if you are a single man) either stay inside the resort or buy a three day pass, or a season pass good for a year.

We spent one evening downtown d’Agde along the river, found good Indian food, Rich got a hair cut and we enjoyed the local flavor in a very off-the-beaten-path location! Very nice southern France. If we had committed to more time there, we would have enjoyed taking the 30 minute train over to Montpelier, another hidden gem in southern France! Next time!
