We returned to India March 7, 2025 for a two week visit to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh; Bodh Gaya, Bihar; and Bhubaneswar, Odisha. We think of Varanasi/Sarnath as North India, but the State’s of Bihar and Odisha are East India. We’ve been to Varanasi before but the other two locations are new destinations for us on the sub-continent. We’ll take one short train trip and one easy domestic flight to move between our stops. We love India! It’s not always the easiest of travels but it’s worth it!

We stayed here March 15-21, 2025 in a Executive Double Room with Lagoon View ($144/night including breakfast, hotel website). Very decorative, festive and expansive hotel. Cleanest city in India that we’ve been to. Wonderful stay. Recommend.
