Reflections on Egypt 2025
We wanted to see the new Grand Egyptian Museum! But bummer, it was not open when we visited. It was our only disappointment on our two week visit in late October 2025. Otherwise, the friendly Egyptian people welcomed us with a warm hospitality and shared their immense treasures with us!
After our whirlwind Egyptian Grand Tour in 2023 we decided to come back to just Cairo and Luxor and experience it outside of a tour group experience. We went to the museums (that were open), lingered around the Sphinx, climbed up to the King’s Chamber in the Great Pyramid, went inside the Menkaure pyramid for the first time—plus Faiyum, Karnak, Luxor, Abydos, Dendera and the Valley of the Kings. We were busy.
